Just got back from a 3 week holiday in Thailand. Had a ball seeing the sights, shopping & spending the day at the swim up pool bar drinking Chang’s
In amongst all of this we found time for a round of golf. I would have liked to play more courses but at 200 bucks a pop each we left it one. The course we played was Loch Palm just out side of Phuket. You can check out their website here. A beautiful course with a heap of water holes on the front 9. The back 9 was closer to the mountain but still challenging. For your $200 you get a set of Taylor Made hire clubs, separate buggies & a caddie. My caddie didn’t like me to much, it might have had something to do with the red shirt I was wearing
Were Neils caddie would drive him down the fairway & let him drop his ball where he crossed into the water, my caddie made me play from the drop zone, a good 100-150 metres behind Neil
Neil’s caddie also helped him out on the greens, telling him where to putt the ball, mine just stood off to the side .
Raelene played her first 18 holes & we might have a new convert
All up it was a gorgeous course, but boy was it hot. We tee’d off at 8 in the morning & it was all ready sweltering. Even in carts we were dripping in sweat. A couple of ice cold towels at the drink stops that are set up at a lot of the tee’s came in handy.
Neil took some great photo’s, except for one see if you can pick which one
You can check them out here
We are heading out to Werribee on Saturday the 27th of Feb. We have booked in for 2 groups but it’s a late start. We couldn’t get a tee time before 2 in the afternoon. There are still a couple of spaces left so left me know by email or leave a comment here if you want to join us

La Trobe University annual golf day was held on the 20th of November out at Growling Frog Golf Course. The format for the day is Ambrose. We put a time together of Neil, Stuart, Ian & myself. It was a stinking hot day, 38 degress & muggy as hell. Thankfully we had carts because I don’t think would have been able to walk the 18 holes
We made a pretty good team, Ian & Stuart did the majoirty of the driving (we all had to use at least 3 drives each) but Neil & I pulled our weight from the fariways & on & around the greens. Neil sunk a clutch putt on our 18th hole
It turns out that it was the winning putt, we won the day on a count back
Here is a photo of us with the Shield
This may seem a fair way off right now but I want to get organized
Each year we head off to celebrate a couple of birthdays with a round of golf (who would have guessed). This year we are heading out to The Dunes golf course on the 7th of December. At this stage we have booked in for 3 groups with golf carts with the first tee time at 10:30. If we get 9 or more people to play the cost will be $44 for the round plus $40 for each cart ($20 for each person). If we only get 8 people to make the trip the cost will be $49 per person for the round.
I’m looking forward to getting out here already & I hope you can join us. If you want to come, drop me an email or leave a comment here on the page.

I’ve booked in 2 groups & 4 carts for Eynesbury. First tee time is 10 o’clock. There are sill a couple spots open if you want to join us. Check out the web site for the course here. The cost is $45 per person plus $40 for the cart.
It may seem a way off but I like to plan ahead for this one. It’s becoming an annual event for GolfInMelbourne. This year the plan is to play at Eynesbury Golf Course. If you want to join us send me an email or leave a comment on this post. It is a Friday so if you are a working stiff, such as myself, you will need to arrange for the day off.

We had a ball out at Yarrambat. Again we had a few of late withdrawls but we finished with 5 players. Me Stuart, Dick, John & Russell. It was Russells first time out so we were on on best behaviour
The course was in great condition, we had a few problems with the greens being an uneven pace but it was still a good day out. I think I three putted more today then I have in the last four rounds combined
John was on fire & he & Stuart were miles ahead of the rabble, both of them shooting around 90. The day was near perfect for golf & I hope Russel enjoyed his day out with the Golfinmelbourne mob & Yarrambat.
The votes are in & we are off to Baccus Marsh. I’ve booked in 2 groups for a 10:30 tee off. There are still a couple of spots left if you want to come & haven’t let me know yet. The plan at the moment is to meet at Neils house & try to minimize the cars that have to drive out there. I’m not sure how long it will take to get from Neils to Baccus Marsh so I’ll need some guidence as to what time to meet. Let me know by comment or email & I’ll pass on the info to everyone else.
