Neil Matt Trevor & myself headed out to St Andrews beach. The last time I was here we played in possible the worst conditions I have ever played in. This time it was perfect. Bright sunshine with little to no breeze. The courses has some amazing holes, like the approach to the 3rd & the 18th that are some of the reasons I play golf. Perfectly manicured undulating fairways, well positioned bunkers, tough greens, some of which have more twists & turns than a rollercoaster. It was a great day out, none of us covered ourselves in glory, but we each came away with a couple of holes we were happy with :) We are so spoilt for choice for brilliant golf courses in Melbourne, so of the best sit on the Mornington Peninsula. I highly recommend to everyone to head out there for a round of golf. St Andrews Beach costs a bit more than some of them you may be used to, but there is something for everyone out there. Â

St Andrews Beach
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013Yarrambat with the RSL
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013Headed out to Yarrambat with the Epping RSL on Sunday. 9 am tee off which is quite a respectable time for them 🙂 Played a varation on Stroke called Par, which is basically a plus if you go under par on a hole, a minus if you go over & a 0 if you par it. First time I have played this & didn’t have the best of days. Still waiting for my handicap from the club as I took a year away from them so I was playing off scratch, it didn’t end well 😉 I still counted stroke so I could put in a card but that wasn’t pretty either. The course is in pretty good nick, with the fairways having a good covering & the greens running true. Found myself ion one bunker & the sand was OK, nothing special but nothing wrong with it either.
Next hit with them I believe is Heathcote, which will be a bus trip leaving bright & early from the RSL. If you want more info leave a comment or drop me a line
