GolfinMelbourne.com hit the Valley

We had a nice group that made it out to Hidden Valley. In the end we had 7 of us that could get a Thursday off work. Colin unfortunately was called away at the last minute & couldn’t make it. Trevor thought that it was going to rain & decided not to come, bad call Trev. According to the weather forecast today was supposed to be a shocker for golf, but as is the case with Melbourne forecasts mean nothing. We had a gorgeous morning for our early tee time. The sun was shining & even with Stan putting the moz on us, the wind didn’t get up toooo much.

The groups that played were Stan, Michael, Ian & Neil with Shane, Mick & myself in the group behind (for the front nine). The course was in magnificent condition, the fairways were lush & after a days rain the greens were nice & soft.

The closet the pin comp was taking out by Mick on the 9th (jackpot of two holes) & by Ian on the 18th (again a jackpot of 2 holes).

At the end of the day we all had a ball, Hidden Valley is one of the best courses that I have played. The staff are fantastic & so is the course.

When it come to scores, I’m not sure what the story was all I know is I won with a 91 ; )

Well, I must admit that I almost made the same call that Trevor did because of the predicted bad weather. I’m glad I didn’t because it was a really nice day to play. I was glad to be able to meet more of the guys that I hadn’t yet so that was the highlight for me — those that played with me understand why that would hav eto be the highlight! Cary mentioned that the fairways were lush and I had to think about that for a minute because I wasn’t sure if I agreed — then I remembered that I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the fairway 🙁 Another highlight was that Cary bought the drinks and coffees after the round! Thanks again Cary.

I must admit that I was thinking the same thing to. The day turned out to be a great day for golf, so all you that didn’t come you missed out on a great day. I Neil shot a 102 which is my best for Hidden Valley by about 10 or so strokes. Hope to see all who played and the one’s that didn’t out there the next time we have a hit there.
