Yering Meadows

Well that was fun. Neil took me out to Croydon Golf Club, situated just outside of Yarra Glen, just in case you were wondering ๐Ÿ˜‰ Very unimpressed with the front 9 but the back 9 more than made up for it. The back 9 was fantastic, which may cause an issue because Neil’s GPS had a melt down in the back 9. Apparently there are 27 holes here at Yering, we playedร‚ย  the traditional 18 (well according to the card but not Neils GPS) & I was a little underwhelmed with the front 9. The back 9 was awesome ๐Ÿ™‚ There were a lot of grounds staff about, they have a Pro Am on Friday, but the one thing that got me all day was the pace of the greens. I could not get used to how slow they were ๐Ÿ™ They felt quick walking on them, they look quick after 2 days of heat, but I think I hit the ball past the hole once all day. Anyway, me & Neil had a ball…… once we stopped counting shots . Wasn’t the best of days for golf. Blowing a gale one minute nothing the next, 50 million flies, sun, rain, popped buttons, we had it all ๐Ÿ™‚ I think I lost about 5 or 6 balls, most of them into water I didn’t see, Neil was about the same. Hit a nice tee shot then get down to where the ball should be & go “Crap” but, this is the beauty of the course, there was a par 3 with a bunker no where near the green, water in front of the green, Neil & I both said “What a stupid place to put a bunker” then both preceded to but a ball in said bunker ๐Ÿ™ I would love to get back out to this course & have another look at the front 9 with a better attitude or look at thisร‚ย  “other 9” that they have ๐Ÿ™‚
