I have booked us in for Saturday the 25th at 10:30 a.m. We have to pay before we play so I have to know numbers by Wednesday the 22nd at the latest. How does Bundoora next Saturday sound?? A lot will depend on the weather I’m guessing. I’ve spoken to someone who played out here last week & they said the cousre is in pretty good nick. There are a couple of holes that are stuffed, no grass on them, but the majority is OK. Let me know if you want to come along by email or leaving a comment here. I haven’t booked a Tee time as yet, when I do I’ll post it here.

I’m joining Neil on a weekend away with his RSL golf group up at Nurmerkah, I think 
Neil has been playing once a month with the Epping RSL golf club for about 6 months. He asked me if I wanted to join him in a weekend away. Stupid question, of course I do 
We leave Friday & come back Sunday with golf on the Saturday & the Sunday. I’m looking forward to getting away, hopefully I wont embaress myself on the course by lossing to Neil LOL.

Please keep in mind the dress code at Hidden Valley. No denim or tracksuit pants & you must have a collered shirt. Last time we were out there Mick had to buy a pair of pants

We are heading up to Woodend on Saturday morning. The plan is to tee off at about 7 in the morning. Stan, Garrett, Dick & I trundle off to Goonawarra on a gorgous morning. I started the day with a par, & Dick in his ever positive frame of mind said “It can only get worse from here”. The next two holes proved him right, Barstard But the real story of the front nine was Stan. He was on fire!!!!! He played the best golf I have ever seen him play, he shot 3 pars & a birdie, & was fantastic to watch. On the holes he didn’t birdie or par he was hitting clean, great shot, just slightly misdirected 
At the end of the day he finished with 5 pars & a birdie. Garrett & Dick both finished with a par a piece which was pretty good going considering the heat.
The course is in fantastic condition considering the water restriction that are now in place. The fairways are lush & the greens are green (funny that) and quick. One thing that was a pain in the ass, when we finished the front nine & made our way over to the 10th tee, there was a sign saying closed for watering. It was closed for a couple of hours so we had to play the front nine again. I wasn’t overly fussed, I had played here a few times & so had Stan. But this was Dicks first time there & he was a little dissapointed not to play the full course.
